      Eliminate --preview-dart-2 flag (#21304) · 041ff621
      Chris Bracken authored
This patch eliminates the --preview-dart-2/--no-preview-dart-2 flag,
hardcoding all uses to true. It also defaults all previewDart2 method
parameters to true, where they hadn't yet been.

A series of subsequent patches will eliminate all previewDart2
parameters and the associated code from within the codebase.

Fixes resulting from audit of issues links (#20772) · 8c79f40d
      Ian Hickson authored
      * Fixes resulting from audit of issues links

I looked at every link to GitHub in our repo. For cases where we had a TODO that was waiting for a bug to be fixed, and the bug has now been fixed, I applied the pending change. For cases where the link was out of date, I updated the link.

Run command validation on all commands. (#12246) · a08b5e00
      Todd Volkert authored
This makes command validation happen as part of `verifyThenRunCommand()`,
using a newly introduced protected method (`validateCommand()`) rather than
a `commandValidator` property (that subclasses were responsible for manually
      invoking).

      Update flutter_tools to use package:file throughout (#7385) · 8bb27034
      Todd Volkert authored
This removes direct file access from within flutter_tools
      in favor of using `package:file` via a `FileSystem` that's
      accessed via the `ApplicationContext`.

This lays the groundwork for us to be able to easily swap
out the underlying file system when running Flutter tools,
which will be used to provide a record/replay file system,
analogous to what we have for process invocations.

      Support a configurable build directory (#5601) · b5f763b4
      Chris Bracken authored
This change adds a top-level getBuildDirectory func and funcs for
android, aot, asset, ios build products.

Developers may now add a "build-dir" mapping to their
~/.flutter_settings (JSON format) config file. Output directory is
relative to the main flutter application directory.

This change also changes the default build directory for iOS builds to a
subdirectory of the configured build directory, 'build/ios' by default.

Switch Material Design icons to using the iconfont · 870894fc
      Adam Barth authored
Rather than managing all the Material Design icons manually, we now
manage them using an icon font. The icon font contains glyphs for each
icon in an efficient vector format.

This patch updates the FLX tooling to include the MaterialIcons font and
updates the Icon widget to use the font instead of asset images.

Refactor flx.build() to allow for external toolchain hooks. · f0379df5
      Todd Volkert authored
This splits flx.build() into two methods, flx.build() and
flx.assemble(). builD() now does the following:
      1) constructs the manifest map by reading the manifest from the
         file system
      2) "compiles" the dart code into the snapshot file
      3) Invokes assemble()

This allows external build toolchains to construct their own
manifest map (possibly using a different manifest syntax)
and create their own snapshot file
