      License update (#45373) · 449f4a66
      Ian Hickson authored
      * Update project.pbxproj files to say Flutter rather than Chromium

      Also, the templates now have an empty organization so that we don't cause people to give their apps a Flutter copyright.

      * Update the copyright notice checker to require a standard notice on all files

      * Update copyrights on Dart files. (This was a mechanical commit.)

      * Fix weird license headers on Dart files that deviate from our conventions; relicense Shrine.

      Some were already marked "The Flutter Authors", not clear why. Their
      dates have been normalized. Some were missing the blank line after the
      license. Some were randomly different in trivial ways for no apparent
      reason (e.g. missing the trailing period).

      * Clean up the copyrights in non-Dart files. (Manual edits.)

      Also, make sure templates don't have copyrights.

      * Fix some more ORGANIZATIONNAMEs

      Modify the MaterialButton to expand when text is scaled. (#12431) · 25ac924e
      Greg Spencer authored
      This modifies the MaterialButton to expand vertically to fit the size of the contained child, no matter what the child widget is. It tries to be as close as possible to the minHeight constraint.

      Also updated some doc comments to have headers (extra blank line after first sentence), and to wrap at 80 cols.

      Update the examples/ README and associated fixes. (#9090) · a52c7b47
      Ian Hickson authored
      This yak shave went as follows:

      Fix https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/8795 by adding stocks to
      the examples README.

      Notice the layers entry in that README isn't quite right either.
      Update that.

      Check the layers/README file is worth pointing at.

      Update the layers/README.

      Let's run some of the layer tests to see if they still work.

      Oops, need to update them to gradle.

      Ok let's try running them again.

      Oops, sector is broken.

      Add a test for sector.

      Fix sector. Find you need to add an assert to a const constructor.

      Notice we need to turn const asserts on for the analyzer.

      Notice the analysis_options files are out of sync with each other and
      with the full list of lints.

      Turn on the lints that should be on.

      Fix the bugs that finds.

      Add even more careful checks around BoxConstraints (#3243) · 47f5c6f2
      Ian Hickson authored
      I ran into a case where I was setting minHeight=∞ and then calling
      layout() with that constraint, which is all kinds of bad. To try to
      catch this earlier, this patch now provides a way to catch constraints
      that are requiring infinite values.

      We don't _always_ check this because there are valid uses for
      BoxConstraints.biggest, e.g. as an additionalConstraint.

      Improve exceptions and asserts for rendering lib. · 1a0484cc
      Hixie authored
      * Use actual exceptions rather than assertions containing code
        containing strings when trying to give messages to authors.
      * Introduce RenderingError which is an AssertionError that takes a
        string argument, to support the above.
      * Provide a BoxDimensions.hasBoundedWidth/hasBoundedHeight API.
      * Document BoxDimensions.isNormalized.
      * Provide more useful information when we assert isNormalized and find
        that it is false.
      * When finding the size is infinite, crawl the tree to figure out which
        render box is likely responsible for the infinite constraints.
      * Provide more information when size doesn't match the constraints.
      * Provide more information when intrinsic dimension methods violate the
        constraints.
      * Only spam a huge amount of information for the first exception from
        the rendering library. I've noticed a lot of people looking at the
        last exception printed rather than the first and that's very
        misleading -- after the rendering library hits an exception, all bets
        are off regarding what'll happen in the future. All kinds of asserts
        might fire.
      * Improve docs around the debug methods and flags for the above.
      * Make Block default to have no children. Previously, giving no children
        crashed with a confusing message about a null deref in an assert.

      Catch un-normalized BoxConstraints · 1a049c14
      Ian Hickson authored
      Add BoxConstraints.isNormalized feature.

      Use this feature in asserts in all the intrinsic dimension methods, in
      various relevant BoxConstraints methods, and in layout().

      Wrap the _DebugSize logic in BoxConstraints.constrain() in an assert
      block to avoid a branch in release mode.

      Remove the logic in BoxConstraints.isSatisfiedBy() that dealt with
      non-normalized values.

      Add BoxConstraints.normalize().

      Make RenderCustomOneChildLayoutBox.performLayout() only set
      parentUsesSize on the child if the constraints aren't tight.
